Can I replace Autocab or iCabbi with GridX Dispatcher?
Yes — GridX Dispatcher is a direct replacement for Autocab, iCabbi, and other legacy CAD systems. It includes everything they offer (dispatch, driver app, booking management) plus a white-label passenger app, automated compliance tracking, fleet management, and NHS/corporate invoicing that most legacy systems charge extra for or don't offer at all. We provide a migration guide and will help you import your driver list and customer data.
Do my drivers need to download a new app?
Yes. Drivers download the GridX Driver App (iOS or Android). The app handles job offers, navigation, pre-shift walkaround, WTD hours, document wallet, earnings, and the panic button. For the passenger app, you can have it white-labelled under your own company name — your passengers see your brand, not GridX.
How does the automated compliance system work?
Every driver's PCO badge, private hire licence, insurance certificate, and DBS are stored in the platform with expiry dates. The system sends automatic alerts to you and the driver at 90 days, 30 days, and 7 days before expiry. On the expiry date, the driver's account is suspended and they cannot accept jobs until the renewed document is uploaded. Vehicle safety recalls are checked daily via the DVSA API.
Can I take NHS or school transport contracts?
Yes. GridX Dispatcher has dedicated support for NHS patient transport and SEN school runs — including contract management, standing orders for recurring journeys, patient/pupil tracking, safeguarding compliance records, and automated monthly PDF invoicing. NHS clients get their own login to book journeys directly, and the system generates the compliance documentation required for the NHS contract.
Do passengers pay Autocab/iCabbi or do they pay me?
100% of passenger fares go directly to your Stripe account — there is no platform fee taken by GridX on transactions by default. Your Stripe merchant account is connected per-tenant; GridX never touches the money. Card processing fees are approximately 1.5% (Stripe's standard rate). GoCardless BACS direct debit is available for corporate and NHS accounts.
Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new operator gets a 30-day free trial with no credit card required. All features including the passenger app, compliance modules, and fleet management are active during the trial. Most operators are taking live bookings within 48 hours of signing up.
Does GridX Dispatcher support electric vehicles?
Yes. The EV Fleet Dashboard shows live battery percentage, charging status, estimated range, and nearest charging points for every electric vehicle in your fleet. Dispatchers can see at a glance which EVs are sufficiently charged before assigning them to shifts.
Can I see dashcam footage and safety events in the platform?
